CLOSING

Aquatics Center
Venue will be closed for annual cleaning and maintenance Saturday, August 16–Sunday, September 7th and re-open on Monday, September 8th at 6 am

Go ahead and jump in; the water is always fine at the Aquatic Center at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex. With both a 50-meter competition pool and a leisure pool with splash features, the Aquatic Center is the place to go for serious swimming or just splashing around.

Aquatic Center The Competition Pool
At 50 meters long by 25 yards wide, there's enough room in this pool to hold swim practice for the local USA Swimming and high school teams, have lap lanes open for community members, and hold a water aerobics class - all at the same time.

The pool is equipped to hold national and international swim meets, water polo matches, and synchronized swimming events. There are complete setups for touchpads, electronic timing systems, and a dynamic scoreboard. With seats for almost 1,000 spectators, the Aquatic Center is one of the largest in the region.

Aquatic Center The Leisure Pool
When the focus is on fun, the Leisure Pool is the place to relax. Water effects and tumble buckets take center stage. Swimmers can float along the Lazy River with its constant current, slide down the twisting-turning water slide, or kick back in the 18-person spa and let the warm jets of water, with temperatures ranging from 102 to 104 degrees, ease away aches and pains. Kept at a constant 84 to 86 degrees, the leisure pool is also available for arthritis movement classes or water walking. Both pools are wheelchair accessible.

Support Areas
Tiled classrooms adjacent to the pool are great for aquatics classes that include instruction both in and out of the water. Men's and women's locker rooms include showers, family changing areas, and coin-operated lockers.

Staff
Lifeguards stationed at the leisure pool and competition pool hold Red Cross certifications in Advanced Lifesaving. In addition, all staff are Red Cross certified in CPR and First Aid. All instructors are lifeguards with additional training in water safety.
