CLASS & PROGRAM REGISTRATION
The Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex offers terrific recreational opportunities for all ages. We have dance classes, gymnastics classes, computer workshops, career training, swim classes, aerobics, and more. There's something for everyone!
We are excited to offer new classes in the areas of track and field. The following track and field classes will be available during the Fall 2007 class session.

Summer classes begin the week of June 1, 2008.
You can view our classes online in SMARTlink Internet or read about them in Your Guide. Printed four times a year (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter), it features a comprehensive listing of classes, programs and activities. If you are a SMARTlink customer, you will automatically receive this publication in the mail. Or, print out, complete, and mail in the FREE Subscription Application. Copies of the Guide will still be available at all County community centers & facilities, as well as at County libraries.
General registration information:
- There are now four ways to register for parks and recreation classes and activities.
- Some classes fill quickly; register now.
- Payment is due at the time of registration.
- A separate form must be completed for each person/class.
TRACK CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Introduction to Track and Field (Ages 6 - 8)
This eight (8) week class is designed to introduce the fundamental elements of Track and Field to the young athlete. Students will be exposed to a number of basic track and field events. Students will also be required to participate in the stretching, warm up and training involved with competing in track and field.
Track and Field Techniques (Ages 9 - 14)
This eight (8) week class will help both the novice and the experienced runners improve their times and endurance. Students will be exposed to training techniques that will give them the edge over their competition. The class will expose the students to sprinting, distance, and hurdle elements of the sport of track.
Pole Vault Workshops (Ages 14 & up)
This is a drop-in program for both beginners and the experienced athletics that want to improve their skills. These workshops provide vaulters with a great opportunity to practice and receive individual instruction. Beginners will learn the proper drills and techniques to succeed in the technical event. The one and a half hour workshops are held Wednesdays at 6–8:30 pm. The cost is $10 per session. Please call 301-583-2661 for the most up to date information regarding current sessions.
